- | The Evacuation Scene is real-time once you select your Origin, ship, crew and, possibly, passengers or cargo. The station is under attack and you can decide when you want to leave -- but, if you stick around too long, you WILL be blown to pieces. It will be an intense experience! | + | The start-of-game sequence is composed of three parts: |
+ | - building your colony deck by selecting your origin, ship, crew and, probably, some passengers and cargo;
+ | - (COMING SOON!) investigating and altering your generated crew; and
+ | - the actual evacuation itself
- | To escape, you just have three things to do: | + | It should be noted that, in order to get to evacuation play, you must already have at least one starter pack. |
- | - fix/upgrade your hyperdrive, | +
- | - load fuel, and | + | |
- | - **press the LAUNCH button.** | +
- | But escaping with an empty ship does you very little good. You can have people and cargo already loaded and/or you can escort passengers and load cargo crates from the station. Both station survivors and station cargo have random value -- but there are some very special prizes among them.
- | |||
- | The more you stay, the more random starting resources you can get.
- | But, it also means the more damage your ship will take and the better the chance you will be destroyed. It should be obvious that destruction ends your current game (and won't get you any Legacy Rewards.)

- | To get to evacuation play, you must already have at least one starter pack. Currently, your starter pack is irrelevant to evacuation as you will get the standard Military Crew (even if you pick differently on the setup screen). After you log in, there is an <<<<< EVAC link in the upper right-hand corner. Clicking on it gives a menu with Launch a new Evacuation as the first choice.

- | When you launch a new evacuation, you are first presented with the launch screen above that allows you to select your origin card, ship, equipment, officers and crew (counter-intuitively, you want to go from right to left). In the future, you will also be able to attach escort ships. When you are done choosing, click on the >>> Launch link. You will find yourself flying through space. Click on Begin your Adventure on the right side of the screen to do exactly that.
The game begins as your ship approaches the space station, Aramea. You get 275 seconds before you automatically dock (though you can click on Dock to dock earlier). You definitely want to examine your Crew Manifesto during that time. The first screen shows all the crew and whether each is Ready or On Leave. Clicking on each crew members name will give you their details. | The game begins as your ship approaches the space station, Aramea.
